Experience a night of comfort and relaxation as you settle in to any one of our stylish rooms, each one named after an indigenous bird you’ll spot in our garden.

The Sunbird Suite. This large, freestanding log cabin under a thatched roof is named after the Sunbird. The room is also our honeymoon suite and offers a king size bed, reading chairs, TV, fridge and a large en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower and twin basins. The suite has a private entrance and a large wooden deck overlooking the garden, lagoon and ocean.

The Hadeda Ibis Room overlooks the pool and lush garden with some views of the lagoon and the ocean beyond. It has a king size bed, TV, fridge and en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower. The room has a private entrance and has a patio next to the pool.

The Loerie Cabin is a thatched roof log cabin with en-suite bathroom with shower. It has twin beds, TV and a fridge. The cabin has a private entrance and wooden deck which overlooks the garden with ocean views beyond.

The Dronga Unit has two rooms, one being a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower and the other being a lounge area with two single beds, TV and fridge. This room is ideal as a family unit, has a patio with mountain views and private entrance.

All rooms have off-street parking. Waterside Lodge has been graded by Portfolio Collection as “Great Comfort” and was awarded a 4star rating by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.

Our rates commence from R250 to R420 per person sharing, including a delicious breakfast. Single rate on request. Family unit also available.

Wilderness is surrounded by nature conservation forests and beaches which make it an ideal location for nature lovers wanting to explore any of the many hiking trails of various lengths and endurance levels.

In close proximity, either by walking or driving there you will find fishing, whale and dolphin watching, windsurfing, paragliding biking, golfing, wild live reserves, shark cave diving and even a casino. Other towns worth visiting from here are Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Oudtshoorn and George, each offering a unique mix of activities and sights worth seeing.
