KO-KA TSARA BUSH CAMP meaning "small bucks kloof" in Khoi, is set in the Nuweveld Mountains of the Great Karoo, 8km outside Beaufort West. This intimate and exclusive bush camp is situated on a Private Game Reserve comprising 30 000 acres of pristine Karoo veld.

The reserve plays host to more than 20 species of game including Giraffe, Kudu, Gemsbok, Wildebeest and Eland. Bird life is prolific with nearly 200 different varieties recorded on the Reserve.

This secluded bush camp consists of 7 chalets, a Lounge / Conference Centre, Bar and Boma surrounded by rocky crags and the Nuweveld Mountains.

The chalets were designed and built by the game farm owner, Werner Koster, who exclusively used local poplars and stone for their construction. The Rustic décor is completed by slate floors, hand made furniture and wood finishes.

Stylishly decorated, each chalet sleeps four with an en suite bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and own private braai (barbeque) facility.

Each chalet has its own private parking area and is comprehensively furnished including fans for summer and heaters for winter.

The night sounds of jackal calling create the ambiance of Africa and make this a nature lover's paradise. The Seven A-Frame chalets, built from stone, timber and thatch offer the ideal accommodation for this perfect hideaway.

CATERING FACILITIES

All the chalets have fully equipped kitchens for a self-catering holiday, including a private braai area.

Should you not feel like feeding yourself you can indulge in a meal prepared in true Karoo style next to the cosy campfire in the open air boma or in the privacy of your own chalet. Dinner bookings required on day of arrival should be made 24 hours before check in. Chalet salad packs can be arranged on check in (see meal options for more details). KO-KA Tsara Bush Camp has excellent conference facilities and the perfect venue for weddings, team building weekends, bosderade, anything upto fourty people. Our staff are well trained, friendly and neat, and will efficiently see to your every whim.

ACTIVITIES AT KO-KA TSARA BUSH CAMP

Our activities are focused on fun, relaxation and bringing you in close contact with nature.

We offer exciting day or night game drives in an open Land Rover with a well-informed guide, or you can roam our 4x4 trails. For the more adventurous you can explore our hiking trails and refresh in one of the river pools, or spend some time in the bird-hide.

At the campsite we have a swimming pool, a central lounge with DSTV, a bar and a boma where you can relax next to a campfire after a long day of exploring. We also serve dinner in the boma on reservation. After dinner you can loosen yourself in the brilliance of the velvet sky and wish upon a shooting star.
