On Leisure Isle's waterfront, Hlalapansi Lodge looks out over the magical Knysna lagoon towards the Heads. Our cosy guest lounge, dining room and pub offer guests spectacular views of the lagoon, as do four of our spacious bedrooms. We have a large private swimming pool in the back garden where guests can soak up the South African sun. Bicycles and paddle skis are available for the use of the guests who would like to explore the island.

Hlalapansi Lodge is an upmarket guest house offering bed and breakfast accommodation on Leisure Isle. A beautiful, secluded island in the heart of the Knysna lagoon, Leisure Isle is surrounded by soft white sand and washed by the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

On the water’s edge, the guesthouse overlooks the lagoon towards the Knysna Heads, two headlands forming the channel through which the Indian Ocean enters the lagoon. Guests soon understand why the guest house is named after the Zulu word “to sit down and relax”.

All of our spacious bedrooms open out, either onto a balcony or garden to overlook the lagoon and Knysna Heads. The spacious guest lounge and honesty bar also have views of the Knysna Heads as do the breakfast room and balcony.

Superior Lagoon Facing Rooms (2 units)

Spacious rooms with fantastic views of the lagoon and the Knysna Heads. The beds are luxurious pillow-top King size beds. Superior rooms open out onto a balcony overlooking the lagoon.

Bathrooms have a spacious bath, double shower and double basins. Air-conditioning/heating in the bedrooms and under-tile heating in bathrooms. Perfect for Honeymoon couples and wedding anniversaries.
   
Deluxe Lagoon Facing Rooms (2 units)

Very spacious, lagoon-facing rooms that open out either onto a balcony or onto the front garden. The beds can be made up as King or Twin. The ensuite bathroom has a bath, a shower and double basins.

Air-conditioning in summer and under-tile heating in the bathrooms for the cooler months. A spare bed can accommodate an extra person at an additional R175 per night.
   
Standard Lagoon Facing Rooms (1 unit)

A lagoon facing room on the ground floor with double doors that open out onto the front garden. The room overlooks the lagoon and the Knysna Heads. The en-suite bathroom has a shower and the beds can be made up as King or Twins. Airconditioning / heating.
